Malaysia’s Mahathir urges PM to quit now to save reputation

As reported…

Hmm… must say, this has truly been an amazing couple of months for me to go through the news that has been happening…

Not that I am saluting to him… well, might as well I take that as a ‘Compounding Interest’ from the ‘DEAD’. :-)

http://asia.news.yahoo.com/080413/afp/080413051519int.html Malaysia’s Mahathir urges PM to quit now to save reputation Photo: AFP KUALA LUMPUR (AFP) – Former Malaysian leader Mahathir Mohamad has called on Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to resign immediately, saying his reputation will be shredded if he insists on staying on in the top job. Mahathir renewed his campaign to oust Abdullah shortly after the prime minister reportedly told his party he would hold discussions after December internal party polls on a handover of power to his deputy Najib Razak. "For his own good he should step down now because then (the transition) will be very smooth but if you wait until the (party polls) you don’t know what the people are going to say," Mahathir said late Saturday. "There may be rude remarks, they may say, ‘Why don’t you go?’ You know, all the kinds of nasty accusations, finger pointing," he told reporters after addressing 1,000 United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) members. "If he waits until the elections, it will cause a major split within the party because those who support him and those who oppose him will clash at the assembly." Abdullah has faced persistent calls to quit after the coalition lost its two-thirds majority in parliament and control of five states in an unprecedented setback in March 8 general elections. He has claimed a mandate to rule, but confirmed that Najib will succeed him, in line with the tradition of his UMNO which heads the coalition. Mahathir’s comments came after Abdullah took partial responsibility for the party’s electoral losses at an UMNO meeting in southern Johor state. "I’m partly to blame," Abdullah said according to weekend reports in which he also responded to calls by UMNO leaders in the northern states of Kedah and Penang for him to step down in favour of Najib. "There have been demands… it does not matter that they want to express themselves on the matter of stepping down," he said according to the official Bernama news agency. "I am not one who is going to retain the leadership forever," he added. Party vice president Muhyiddin Yassin said Abdullah told the Johor gathering he will discuss a transition of power to Najib, with the talks to take place after the December internal UMNO polls, Bernama reported. "The period of transition and so on were not mentioned in detail… matters such as when the transition will take place and so on will be discussed between him and… Najib," Muhyiddin told Bernama.

Ruling UMNO party members want to defect: Anwar

Phewh!!

Anyway… perhaps I am being a little too excited of blogging a lot today but it’s just my ways of letting out my FRUSTRATIONS!

From the MAN HIMself…

Mr Anwar’s claim could not be immediately confirmed, but would add to persistent rumors of political horse-trading in the aftermath of the
disastrous poll results for the ruling coalition.
____________ _________ _________ _____
KUALA LUMPUR – MALAYSIAN opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim claimed Monday that many lawmakers in the ruling coalition want to defect to his camp after their election debacle.

Mr Anwar told reporters he has been approached by many ruling party
lawmakers who won in the March 8 general elections.
They are welcome to defect but no bribes will be paid to make them to cross over, he said. ‘We will remain consistent and committed to the code of ethics. If you want to surrender at a price you have chosen the wrong party,’ he told reporters.

Buying political support, especially by paying voters money, is common in Malaysia, and bribing lawmakers to defect, while not widespread, is known to occur. The three-party opposition alliance stitched together by Anwar won an unprecedented 82 seats in the 222-member Parliament in the elections. It needs 30 more lawmakers to get a majority needed to unseat the National Front coalition’s government.

Mr Anwar’s claim could not be immediately confirmed, but would add to persistent rumors of political horse-trading in the aftermath of the
disastrous poll results for Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s
coalition. Mr Abdullah says he has the full support of his party, and has rejected calls to step down. But Mr Anwar’s claim, if true, would add pressure on him to keep the party together.

Mr Anwar did not say how many National Front members have approached him, but said they belonged to Mr Abdullah’s United Malays National Organization, the main party in the National Front, as well as other smaller parties. ‘People have approached and discussed … but no one dared raise the issue of price (of defection) to me,’ he said, without elaborating. He said he believes some will eventually defect, even without monetary inducement. But he refused to say if the numbers would be enough to topple the National Front government, which is facing its worst political crisis in the 51 years it has been in power.

Although the National Front suffered losses in some previous elections, notably in 1999, it is the first time its parliamentary majority has been eroded to this extent. In addition, Mr Anwar’s opposition alliance won control of governments in five of Malaysia’s 13 states. Mr Anwar said many of those who approached him won their seats from Sabah and Sarawak states on Borneo island, which have emerged as UMNO’s political stronghold after its spectacular loss of support in mainland Malaysia. The National Front won 54 out of the 56 seats in the two states, accounting for nearly 39 per cent of its total 140 seats it Parliament. Most of the 54 seats were won by UMNO candidates.

Mr Anwar, a former deputy prime minister, was once an UMNO star before being accused of corruption and sodomy by then Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad in 1998. He was convicted of both charges but the sodomy charge was later overturned. While he was in jail, Mr Anwar’s wife formed the People’s Justice Party, or PKR, which emerged as the largest opposition party in the elections with 31 parliamentary seats. It is in a coalition with the Democratic Action Party
and the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party. — AP

D.S. Anwar Ibrahim – The Prime Minister of Malaysia

my-hand-logo Amidst all the CHAOS that’s happening in and around the Area of Malaysia’s Political scene, I came about a column in the ‘LOCAL’ CONTROLLED MEDIA?? Hmm… Either it’s like the old movie, GODS MUST BE CRAZY or my EYES are playing tricks on me…

Nevertheless on the issue of the TITLED above, IT SURE DOES strucked my attention amidst my BUSY ‘SELLING MYSELF’ rather then selling cars… ;-)

DAP’s leader and also the Chief Minister of Penang has VOICED out with CLEAR statement that ‘Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’ IS THE BEST CHOICE for Malaysia’s Prime Minister. And well, I SUPPORT THE VOICE AND NOTION.

It is literally PROVEN that what they have said, they DID it.

Now, my 2 cents… err… now it’s RM2 worth of thoughts… make that RM200 LAH, since after this can save up a little if not a lot of money from whatever I can earn LAH from selling cars… Is that, Malaysians are in DIRE need to have a HIGH-CALIBRE Leader with NO FRILLS and knows what’s been going on inside the 4 WALLS of BN and UMNO.

Perhaps, when that really do happen, time again will se the TRUTH befall upon US. LET THE TRUTH speaks for itself.

In the END, there’s ONLY YOU and HIM… HE will be THE JUDGE and THE ONLY ULTIMATE JUDGE! No human beings in THIS WORLD could ever PROFESS the WORD FAIRNESS and not one could ever determine another one’s FATE without HIM knowing what HE has set out to do FOR YOU.

D.S. Anwar, THE FUTURE is when YOU have become… and THE PAST is what YOU HAVE SAID and DONE.

Your SUCCESS will be the fulfilment of The UNTOLD and YOUR LEADING The NATION will be the DREAM of MANY MALAYSIANS. I have seen and hear from my ears…

Good LUCK and may YOU be SHOWERED with many DOAs and PRAYERs from and by ALL MALAYSIANS who wants to see JUSTICE!

KUALA LUMPUR (AFP) – Malaysia’s Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has said he will continue as prime minister despite calls to quit, but promised change in his administration after its humiliating election performance.

Abdullah has been under pressure to resign since his Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition took a beating in March 8 polls, conceding four states and a third of parliamentary seats in unprecedented losses.

Komen saya:

Syabas! Congratulations! PKR, DAP, PAS!

With the VOICES of the Nation heard all across Malaysia VIA the General Election yesterday, we now hail to another level of  SUCCESS. For the states that has a NEW BREATH of life, I hope and pray that you will justify the causes of you being elected. Let’s look forward to a new STATE policy which not only helps the rakyat to have a better life but also a better future regardless of RACE or RELIGION.

A BIG Congratulations to D.S. Anwar Ibrahim, D.S. Azizah, Sivarasa, Nurul Izzah and the rest of the Opposition who have proven themselves worthy of their opponents and may all of you be blessed with the ‘Conscious’ of ‘SUARA RAKYAT’ and NOT ‘SUARA KERAJAAN’.

Alas… 2/3 of Malaysians have realised the calamities that’s been done… the damages that has been the ‘OPPRESSIVE’ behavioural to I believe, many Malaysians around. I followed few TV channels for latest updates along the way last night which I pre-determined that this time around there’ll be MAJOR changes during the Election. Have not heard any riots nor any disturbing occurences throughout Malaysia… or if not it would have deffinitely been reported.

On this note, I am proud that I am a Malaysian as there has not been any incidences that would further detriment and deteriorate ‘Malaysia’ as a country of democratic beliefs. To the ROYAL POLICE of MALAYSIA, I am sure they have not had any problems securing any situations that might lead to RIOTS.

MALAYSIA! You made us ALL PROUD!

So let us look FORWARD to a BETTER FUTURE and a BETTER POLICIES to further ENHANCE the standards of all walks of MALAYSIANS’ lives in order to keep abreast with what we should understand as, ‘THE TECHNOLOGICAL’ TRYING times.

No one is ABOVE the LAW, not even the ones that are UPHOLDING the laws. We have reached to the stage where changes are INEVITABLE. DON’T be afraid of CHANGES, in the early stages, there would be fumbles and stumbling blocks but given the TRIAL and ERRORS whatever that is WRONG, will definitely be CORRECTED in due time, with NEW faces and NEW IDEAS.

TO BARISAN RAKYAT,

PROVE to the NATION that you have been selected because we BELIEVE in your CAUSES.

MAKE US PROUD!!

Bloggers slammed

So now… it’s all about the BLOGgers… hmmm… and we are being monitored? Of course we are… well, at least, I still share the best of what Malaysian ‘Intelligent Minds’ would want to have for their country… it is still, isn’t it? or isn’t…?

But then again… if we BLOGgers are not the ones who are voicing out ’somewhere’ in cyber space, then who will and would you (Government Offcials) have even known (prihatin) HALF of the things that’s been going on in the RAKYATs’ MINDs?

To whom we, the ‘UNDERPRIVILEGED‘ society shall forward our ‘grievances’ or ‘annoyances’ to? ADUN kawasan? Whereas in the end, it would just be STUCKed there for almost forever till the NEXT ELECTION comes around probably? Ohhhhh Puh-leaseeeee….

I am just one among thousands, perhaps millions of bloggers nationwide/worldwide that is voicing out in a PEACEFUL manner. Not that it is provoking just because it sounds like it is… You guys are the ones who owns the MAINstream MEDIA!! Think about the reach to the rural society who hasn’t any internet connections whatever not…

Least where we are writing ‘from and to’ are to the society who could have access to these INFORMATION and  could THINK because only for those who could access could actually have the 1st hand and quick news of what’s going around and not about what’s going ON… pity the folks without the REAL NEWS tho’. Being condemned with what I would say just facades of ‘IMPLICATIONs’ and ‘PARADIGM Shifts’ from only one side…

KOTA TINGGI: Rumour-mongering bloggers are cowards and a nuisance to Umno, said Pengerang MP Datuk Seri Azalina Othman.

Azalina, who is Youth and Sports Minister, said the opposition parties were using the blogs because they know that the Home Affairs Ministry was busy monitoring reports in the mainstream media.

“They think they can get away with it but it is not the case as they too are being monitored,” she said after launching the National Sports Institute satellite centre here.

All about sports: Azalina having a kick about with the students after the ground breaking ceremony for the satellite centre at the Bandar Penawar Sports School in Kota Tinggi Thursday.

Asked on the personal attacks against her, Azalina said it was part and parcel of politics.

“The most important thing is that the leadership knows your capability and wants to retain you.

“I get more pahala (blessings) everyday with all the lies spread about me, especially by bloggers,” she said.

On talk of infighting in Pengerang Umno especially between her and division chief Datuk Harun Abdullah, Azalina said people could say a lot of things but there was no problem.

“I still see him and I still shake his hand,” she said.

Azalina said she would contest in a seat to be decided by the Barisan Nasional leadership.

“I am a soldier and if the boss asks me to go to war, then I will,” she said.

On the satellite centres, she said seven would be constructed nationwide this year. Each centre costs about RM2mil.

NeoLiberalism

Yes! It’s all about FREEing your mind, countering the ‘Wrongs’ and to make things ‘RIGHT’. But, it all starts within ourselves…, Me… You, and the rest gangbang of the society, or nation if you’d like.

We’re totally strangers towards ourselves, in and among us, but that does not precipitate us from being disowned from our beloved mother-country. That’s why, I, tonight, promise myself that ‘ONE-VOTE’ would make a whole world of difference to the benefit of the ‘Whole’ Nation.

It starts with me…

It has been too long… FAR too long that we have discard the true values of a "LEADERSHIP" in our Motherland.

  • What is FREEdom?
  • How does it feel to be in a state of FREEdom?
  • Why FREEdom is essential to the Nation and It’s society?
  • Where do we seek FREEdom? Our own land? Singapore? Australia…?… The US of A???
  • When will we get to feel REAL FREEdom?

In this desperation and confused times, most of us would feel the pressure from the ‘RISE’ of fuel price, the ‘RISE’ of kitchen and household items… and MANY, MANY more…

What’s the BEST of the BEST options that we have now?

BERSIH?

HINDRAF?

WHAT???

What’s next?

I am still wondering? What would it take to move a mountain? Probably it is true…. It Is The End Of Time… The End of Days… It Is The End…

And to YOU, I submit… if the time is near… so be it… Let The Truth Unfold as and when it is nearing to it’s calling…
